Beginning in 1982 and for the next 20 years or so, Bill Keshlear was a reporter, news editor, manager, designer and photo/art director.

  • Keshlear led a comprehensive redesign of The Salt Lake Tribune as director of design in 2003. Above are pages of the paper before the redesign and after. Click images to view larger PDF or JPG.

  • As a news editor at the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Keshlear supervised a copy desk of about 10 editors and assisted the lead projects editor in story development. He won numerous awards, including best-designed front page in Texas three out four years.
  • Working as a news editor/art director at the San Diego Union-Tribune, Keshlear designed the Sunday opinion section and helped solicit commentary and analysis on a wide range of public policy and politics.
  • Keshlear taught editing and design and led workshops at Utah State University and the University of Utah.
